Cosmetic Dentistry Grants is a program that offers financial assistance towards a dentistry procedure at a participating dental office. CDG does not provide free or fully subsidized dental procedures.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the clear, modern alternative to metal braces created for teens and adults. Metal braces may not be the most attractive option to straighten your teeth so when Invisalign was created it opened a window for people to get braces without the metal mouth. Invisalign must be executed by a trained Dentist which is where we step in. We will help find you a local Dentist who will start your process of getting straight teeth without anyone even noticing!

Invisalign Eligibility: Who Can Get Them

Invisalign is available for teens, and adults! Many adults choose Invisalign so that they can straighten their teeth if they didn’t get braces as a child or finally want to take the step to straighten their teeth. Invisalign has become such a great alternative to metal braces. The only way to know if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign is to have a consultation with a dentist that Cosmetic Dentistry Grants suggests.  One of the Invisalign Dentists in the CDG program will take a look at your teeth and assess if you’re qualified for the Invisalign treatment.

When You Should Get Invisalign

Once all your permanent teeth have come in is a good time to straighten and fix your permanent teeth. Typically as your permanent teeth come in they could shift around and create an uneven smile. Invisalign will straighten out your teeth and give you a great natural smile that you desire! Invisalign was created for most ages but the CDG program is only eligible for those 18 or older. So whether you get them at a young age or when you’re an adult you want to get Invisalign as soon as you’re ready for a straight smile and good bite.

Where to Get Invisalign

Cosmetic Dentistry Grants (CDG) will help you find a qualified Dentist in your area that participates in the CDG program, allowing you to get financial assistance toward your Invisalign procedure.

CDG does not provide free or fully subsidized dental procedures.

Benefits of Invisalign vs Traditional Braces

If you want to straighten your teeth and are debating between Invisalign and traditional braces let us share why Invisalign is the way you want to go!

  1. Fewer Dental visits: when you use metal braces you will be required to visit the dentist office frequently for tightening the rubber bands/wires. With Invisalign, you’ll receive aligner trays for the first phase and then several phases afterward allowing you to move onto the next phase without visiting the Dentist again.
  2. Eat What You Want: Invisalign allows you to eat or drink whatever you want! The Invisalign aligners are removable allowing you to clean your teeth after eating.
  3. Virtually Invisible: No one enjoys a mouth full of metal braces. Invisalign allows orthodontic patients to hide their dental treatments so they are less noticeable by the public.
  4. More comfortable: Anyone who has had braces will tell you, they are not very comfortable. Traditional braces have a cycle of discomfort that you can avoid with Invisalign! Invisalign eliminates the discomfort of the metal possibly irritating your mouth, tongue, cheek, or gums.

What is the Invisalign Procedure?

There are six major steps in the Invisalign process. With six easy steps, you’ll be on your way to getting those straight teeth you’ve been wishing for.

  • Step 1. Contact Cosmetic Dentistry Grant: The first step is to contact us where we will determine your eligibility for an Invisalign grant allowing you to receive partial payment for the procedure. We will set you up with a great Dentist in your area who is part of the program
  • Step 2. Initial Appointment: During your first appointment, your dentist will tell you if your mouth/teeth are qualified for the Invisalign treatment. If you are considered a candidate for Invisalign then you will discuss the treatment protocol and estimated treatment length.
  • Step 3. Molding Process: Here you will start the digital molding process. This sometimes does happen during the first appointment but it depends on your dentist’s discretion. The Dentist may require you to get digital scans, photographs, and x-rays to create an accurate model of your mouth and teeth. These will be sent to the Invisalign lab for them to create your custom trays.
  • Step 4. First Fitting: Once your series of custom trays are completed it’s time to pick them up! Your dentist may fit some small attachments onto your teeth to help the trays stay in place but they are clear, almost invisible. Your dentist will discuss if you require any preliminary tooth reduction and may do it at this time or alternate appointments. Your dentist will make sure the tray fits perfectly and then will explain the aftercare treatments and then you’re ready to go home!
  • Step 5. Follow-Up Appointments: After a few weeks of your first tray you’ll return to your dentist to check on the progress of your teeth alignment. Unlike braces, you may not need as many follow up appointments throughout the treatment only periodically to check your progress.
  • Step 6. Enjoy Your Straight Teeth: After your final tray you’ll have that straight smile you’ve always dreamed of. Time to show off that new smile, you earned it!

How Much Does it Cost to Get Invisalign?

The cost of Invisalign can vary depending on the number of trays your mouth will need and the severity of your teeth. Treatment typically costs between $3,000 and $7,000 but insurance and Cosmetic Dentistry Grants will help with that payment.

How the Cosmetic Dentistry Grants Can Help You Get Invisalign

A Cosmetic Dentistry Grant (CDG) is available for those looking to receive Invisalign. The CDG could cover the partial cost of Invisalign. Learn more about the CDG and if you’re eligible to get CDG funding for Invisalign. Apply now!

Some downsides of Getting Invisalign

Your dentist will assess the scope of the misalignment of your teeth during your consultation and determine your eligibility for Invisalign. Sometimes people’s misaligned teeth and jaw position do not make them a candidate for Invisalign.

Sometimes Invisalign isn’t for everyone. Invisalign is removable which means it can be easy to forget to wear sometimes but if you don’t wear it, nothing will happen! It can seem simple but if you forget to wear your Invisalign then your teeth could move back to being crooked or throw off the treatment plan.

Another obvious potential drawback of Invisalign is the chance of losing your aligner trays. Since they are removable they are much more likely to get lost than traditional braces.

Invisalign: FAQ

We are asked many questions about the Invisalign procedure, so we’ve answered some of the most common questions below:

What can you not do with Invisalign?

There are several things you shouldn’t do with your Invisalign such as improper storage to create distortion and bacteria, lose them, forget to clean them and disinfect with mouthwash. You will be required to read the care instructions very carefully.

Can I drink through a straw with Invisalign?

Some people will take their trays out every time they eat or drink something but some people find sipping through a straw very easy!

What happens if you don’t wear your Invisalign for a day?

Forgetting to wear your Invisalign for several hours every day will affect your treatment negatively. We recommend never missing a day as this will prolong your treatment.

Can you kiss with an Invisalign in?

Of course! Nothing is stopping you from kissing with Invisalign in. Thankfully your partner will most likely not even notice it is in due to the virtually invisible look.

Will Invisalign work if only worn at night?

No, you need to wear your Invisalign for at least 20 hours a day meaning if you’re only wearing them a few hours a day your teeth will not align the way the dentist has intended for them too and will prolong treatment.

Can you swim in a pool with Invisalign?

Yes! You can wear your Invisalign during swimming. They are made to sit securely in your mouth without falling out or becoming loose.

Is it bad to grind teeth with Invisalign?

Patients typically find that Invisalign helps prevent teeth grinding! Persistent grinding will cause wear on the aligners. You can always get a night or bite guard to prevent premature wear on your Invisalign.

Do I need to wear a retainer after Invisalign to keep my teeth straight?

Most dentists recommend retainers after braces or Invisalign to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back to their initial position but this depends on each person and their situation. Typically retainers can be worn at night or are permanently placed at the back of each ridge of teeth.

How many people have used Invisalign?

Over 8 million people have depended on Invisalign to help them achieve that amazing smile they’ve desired.

Can I chew gum while wearing Invisalign aligners?

No, the gum will stick to your Invisalign. You can remove your Invisalign if you want to chew gum.

From Our Recipients

Due to a serendipitous google search for something unrelated I learned about this opportunity and like a dream come true I will have something that I have wanted repaired for years, repaired. It began when I was 7 or 8, I had fallen on my face and my baby tooth was thrusted into my bone pushing my adult tooth up. Over the years of dental surgery and braces they were able to bring the tooth down but I had a lot of other issues that occured and things were never quite right and I did not have the money to repair it. But now I am and feel thankful and very happy. Thank you for your kind help. This will change my life for the better. Thank you.

Thomas Ryder - Elizabeth, NJ

I am very thankful to have been selected for the cosmetic dentistry grant and to Smile Select for helping me to achieve having a perfect smile. For about 8 years now I have grown up with braces on my teeth up until I needed my baby teeth removed, in which once tooth came down successfully and the other did not. Within time there was no progression and I was finally able to have options in getting my tooth back. Which did not feel possible at first. Luckily I overheard on the radio about the Cosmetic Dentistry Grants program and I have never felt so grateful to have been selected for this opportunity. I finally feel I am able to have a choice in getting the full smile I have dreamed of having. Thank you once again for making this possible for me.
