Replacing missing teeth with dentures is the most economical method but typically will make it somewhat easier to do everyday things you’ve been missing out on! When you lose your teeth it eventually allows the facial muscles to sag which creates an older image. Replacing those missing teeth with dentures can improve your daily life and bring back some confidence! Let us help you restore the function of your teeth to gain that confidence you had. Cosmetic Dentistry Grants is a program that offers financial assistance towards a dentistry procedure at a participating dental office. CDG does not provide free or fully subsidized dental procedures.

What are Dentures?

Dentures are removable teeth made to replace missing teeth and the surrounding gum tissue. Many people get dentures for several reasons but overall it is to help improve the quality of life. If you’re looking to replace your missing teeth with an affordable option, dentures may be an option for you!

Dentures Eligibility: Who Can Get Them

A good candidate for dentures are adults who have experienced significant tooth loss. You should still have a good amount of healthy gum tissue and jawbone. If only one or two teeth are missing then you may want to look into a dental bridge *link to dental bridge* instead. Don’t worry, we will connect you with a dentist who will determine the best replacement for you!

When You Should Get Dentures

There are several warning signs you can look for that will indicate that you may need dentures or another treatment to replace your missing teeth. Some of these warning signs can be:

  • Severe toothaches
  • Periodontal Disease
  • Red and swollen gums
  • Loose or moving teeth
  • Difficulty chewing or digesting foods

If you’ve already lost a tooth or several teeth the need for dentures is now! The more time you wait then the healthy teeth can shift making them weaker so you want to fix the issue as soon as possible.

Benefits of Dentures

Tooth loss can be extremely hard on your confidence and everyday quality of life so you can imagine how getting dentures may improve your life! There are several benefits of getting dentures such as:

  • Preserving Facial Structure: when you lose teeth you’re losing bone structure as well which will lead to a major change in the way your face looks. Dentures will help to hold up your facial shape that was lost.
  • Daily Functions: losing your teeth can affect the way you go about your daily activities such as eating and speaking. Getting dentures can in some cases help restore the way you speak and allow you to eat some foods you weren’t able to without teeth, but not all.
  • Improved Self-Confidence: the point of getting dentures is to replace those empty spaces in your mouth. Most likely if you’re missing teeth you haven’t been smiling as much as you used to. Dentures can help you regain some confidence.

Process of Getting Dentures

Your first step in getting dentures is contacting CDG to find you a dentist that works with the Cosmetic Grant Dentistry Program. We will find you a qualified participating dentist who will be able to help you throughout the entire dentures process.

  • Dentist Visit: If eligible, you will meet with a CDG Qualified Dentist who will go over the entire process with you.
  • Tooth Removal: Your dentist may suggest having certain teeth removed but don’t worry the dentist will make you feel comfortable and fully informed!
  • Bite Moulds: Wax blocks will be used to check that your biting is comfortable and completely functional. During this step you may be asked to choose the shape or color of your new teeth, this part can be exciting to customize your future image!
  • Wax Models: Your new set of teeth will be set in wax to get a better idea of how your dentures will look.
  • Fitting: After one or several fittings when all is correct you will be sent home with your new dentures and be given care instructions.

How Much are Dentures?

The cost of dentures will vary greatly depending on the denture making process, the materials used in their production, and the dentist used. Dentures can range with a full set from several thousands of dollars and up. The price range depends on the quality of the dentures. Many dental insurances cover dentures depending on the type of dental plan you have. The Cosmetic Dentistry Grant (CDG) Program can provide funding which will cover partial payment of your new dentures!

Due to a serendipitous google search for something unrelated I learned about this opportunity and like a dream come true I will have something that I have wanted repaired for years, repaired. It began when I was 7 or 8, I had fallen on my face and my baby tooth was thrusted into my bone pushing my adult tooth up. Over the years of dental surgery and braces they were able to bring the tooth down but I had a lot of other issues that occured and things were never quite right and I did not have the money to repair it. But now I am and feel thankful and very happy. Thank you for your kind help. This will change my life for the better. Thank you.

Thomas Ryder - Elizabeth, NJ

I am very thankful to have been selected for the cosmetic dentistry grant and to Smile Select for helping me to achieve having a perfect smile. For about 8 years now I have grown up with braces on my teeth up until I needed my baby teeth removed, in which once tooth came down successfully and the other did not. Within time there was no progression and I was finally able to have options in getting my tooth back. Which did not feel possible at first. Luckily I overheard on the radio about the Cosmetic Dentistry Grants program and I have never felt so grateful to have been selected for this opportunity. I finally feel I am able to have a choice in getting the full smile I have dreamed of having. Thank you once again for making this possible for me.
